Your spiritual health is important for your overall health and well-being.
Balance comes from a strong mind/body/spirit connection, and spirituality goes a long way towards grounding and centring you as well and supporting healthy immunity and reducing chronic pain and inflammation.
You practice self-care for your physical body with good food and exercise. A healthy spiritual practice is another important aspect of your overall health. So it makes sense to practice self-care for your spiritual health.
And you are the only one who can do it.
All it takes is a daily routine with some carefully chosen rituals and habits to keep you and your energy flowing, and your spirit happy and well.
Morning is the perfect time to practice, I begin my day with a cup of tea and my spiritual practice. This varies from day to day, the important thing is that I do it, and I am at peace as I step into my day.
Here are some of my favourites, they are excellent spiritual tools you can use:

1. Meditation
Spend time daily to sit quietly, in stillness, and practice present moment awareness by focussing on your breath. As your body and mind grow quiet you will connect inward to your spirit.
2. Journalling
Set aside time each day to write, as you reflect on your day, your emotions, or simply reflect on your life. Share your thoughts and feelings with the page. As you put it down on paper it releases tension and worry and is healing.
3. Gratitude
Reflect on what fills your heart, the blessings and abundance in your life. Gratitude has a very high vibration and is healing.
4. Nourish your heart
This is the perfect time to ask the big questions, Who am I? What is my purpose? What does my heart desire? What do I need to feel whole and happy?
5. Joy
Happiness for no reason, it’s right there in front of you. The twinkle of an eye, the first slower in spring, an evening walk, birdsong, sunlight on a flower, a smile. Joy appears and you have to smile. Joy is the perfect antidote for fear and anger, so a healthy dose of joy is always a gift.
6. Create
Play music, draw, paint, knit, do whatever is relaxing, and you will find it is balancing.
7. Compassion
Small acts of kindness and generosity are healing for the giver and the receiver.
8. Nature
Spend time soaking up the healing endorphins and grounding energy of nature. Get your hands into the garden, go for a walk in a park or forest, and breathe in the beautiful air.
Make these practises part of your everyday routine and you will find you feel better and better as you balance, heal and create a life that is in integrity with your heart and soul.
