Gratitude isn’t something that is reserved for Thanksgiving. It is a highly potent approach of living every day and every moment. It raises your vibration and it keeps you living in appreciation joy and contentment.
Sometimes it can be hard to feel gratitude. You may be in pain, depressed, experiencing hormonal shifts, osteoporosis, or dealing with other health concerns. You have been searching for an answer, for the golden egg that will offer you the relief you’ve been seeking.
You could be scrambling around running from one healthcare practitioner to the next, spending thousands of dollars on products that aren’t helping and may be making things worse.
After experiencing a near death medical emergency, I spent years in meditation, contemplating the best approach for healing the body, mind and spirit. I know that less is more and a simple personalized plan is the safest and best route to take.
I created an approach to support optimal health and healing in a manner that gently, supports, nourishes and enriches, allowing for growth and expansion and won’t push the system too hard.
To that end, I would like to share with you a few simple practices you can implement to make this a season of mindful growth, gratitude and gentle healing.
These are the core of how I choose to live and they have supported me as I cultivate health, joy and deep satisfaction.

Here are 3 simple practices to get you started.
1. Mindfulness is creating an oasis of calm in the midst of chaos. Running around, meeting deadlines, finishing laundry, driving to an appointment in busy traffic can whip you into a tizzy. Just give yourself a moment to take a breath, and a few more and bring yourself into the moment. This is like a capsule of peace, calm and sanity.
2. Simplifying is my mantra this year. I mentioned Hygge last week, the Scandinavian term for a life well lived. A life where you choose what matters to you. Simple joys, cozy spaces and objects, and lots of love and pleasure with friends and family.
Release the to-list and choosing to simply your life enables you to let go of some of the pressures around keeping up with the scene, and getting more likes on social media. It is the opposite of bigger and busier and faster are better. Think being fully in the moment, feeling cozy with a hot cup of tea, woolly socks, a warm afghan, a book and a candle. A quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle. That cultivates gratitude, simplicity, contentment and present moment awareness.
3. Cultivating contentment and discovering the power of a gratitude practice helps you to be satisfied with ‘what is’ at the present time. Not striving to change it or wishing for more, but feeling a sense of ease, grace and acceptance for the simplicity and perfection of the moment. Be here now with what is and smiling about it.
These three simple keys are fundamental to the philosophy of my healing system; less is more, and more actually can be worse.
