Who am I today?
Where am I heading?
What do I want my future to look like?
Is it time to let go of the old and create space for the new?
Self care is important anytime, but if you are waking up and wanting more. . .
(and I don’t mean more stuff!) it is essential.
We live in a workaholic world. It is a point of pride to be busy. Busy means success. Striving, pushing, moving up and up the ladder. You can get so high that the only way off is to have a great fall.
You are busy and people are lined up to see you professionally, personally, or both. You are a success! Life is good! You are living the dream!
That was my scene. My schedule was packed full and on weekends I enjoyed my busy social life.
I loved the work I was doing, making a difference in peoples’ lives, and I enjoyed spending time with friends.
I felt trapped and although I didn’t acknowledge it, I was getting the nudges that I desperately needed to regroup, reconnect, rest, and get some perspective. One morning I woke up exhausted and I remember thinking,
How can I get out of this?
I was deeply stressed, exhausted, burnt out. How are you feeling?
Self care does indeed begin on the inside. You must stop, tune in and listen. Reconnect and rediscover your purpose.
Be honest with yourself.
Back to Deepak’s questions.
Set an intention for your self care practice.
Where to start? Take a baby step. Create some white space on that calendar and make a date with yourself. Create a ritual, make it sacred. Take a time out. Do something simple that you love, read a book, meditate, go for a walk, make it something effortless and fulfilling.
It can be tough making change, but like the caterpillar, the transformation is so worth it.
I love to support people as they rediscover how fabulous they are and how fulfilling life can be.
Now I am happy to have a beautiful boutique practice that allows me to see a few perfect people who are looking for a deep paradigm shift. I call forward you healers, nurturers, and caregivers who are giving so much.
