You know you’re living a heart centred life when you have to wonder ~ which came first the smile or the joy?

As you open your heart to the beauty of life it’s pretty easy to go about your day with a smile on your face.

A simple smile stimulates a chemical reaction in the body, releasing feel good endorphins, along with dopamine, serotonin and neuropeptides so you feel happy, happy, happy.

Smiling and relaxing also increase your blood flow, lower your heart rate, your blood pressure, and boost your immune system.

So it looks like laughter really is the best medicine.

When you are happier, you become more motivated, and your nervous system likes it too, decreasing symptoms such as depression, anxiety and chronic pain.

 

 

Your Physical HealthSmiling is a reflex, and when people see your smile they can’t help but smile in return.

As as you share your smile you share love with others. So as we say in qigong, you have the ability to heal yourself and others too, and you feel great on the inside and the outside!

 

 

By getting in touch with the things you appreciate about yourself and your world, a new reality opens up.  Self-confidence, joy, appreciation, better health…and ultimately the G word is front and centre in your life.

Got it?  Yes!  Gratitude!

Gratitude for all that you are, for all that you experience and have in your life each and everyday.

A great starting place for expressing your joy is a Gratitude Journal.

It can be a beautiful journal that you’ve been saving for something really special, or simply a notebook, no matter, it is the content that will make it a thing of beauty.

Begin with a morning practice of writing down 3 things that you are grateful for.  You can begin simply with obvious things you appreciate, and as you get warmed up, your awareness will grow and become fine-tuned.  The list will become rich and diverse and very, very long.

Yes, you are very grateful for a warm home, clothing, a comfy bed, clean water to drink and healthy food to eat.  You are also grateful for your health and …

You fill in the blanks.  The list will become a personal and valuable happiness resource.

Make everyday an opportunity for saying thanks. Make it a daily ritual morning, and evening too.

 

Gratitude is saying thank you to the universe, The Divine, for the abundance you have been blessed with.
